The current assessment is still governed by the old assessment from 1990's and no updated materials to reflect new standards and teachings. However, what is taught as part of the unit of competency (Safety Net element) is slightly different than what the Manufactures, Suppliers, WHS-2011 Act and Standards recommend.
Safety Nets Australia recognises that the provision of the Industrial Safety nets involves more than simply the supply of the product; it is a Safety System. Due to that added complexity, a significant component of the product includes a transfer of skills and knowledge through Training and Certification to ensure hazards are controlled and not passed on.
The formal training provided aims to facilitate the provisions of "Reasonable Care" and "safe working environment" as prescribed in Legislation.
